New York State OGS undertook a facility evaluation and upgrade of the Collins Correctional Facility in Gowanda, New York. Working as a subconsultant to Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., Savin conducted field investigations of the sewer system to identify sources of infiltration and inflow, physical defects that need repair, and hydraulic restraints that need to be relieved.
Savin conducted internal CCTV inspection and smoke testing of approximately 18,000 linear feet of sewer. Savin also conducted heavy cleaning and debris disposal in 5,000 linear feet of sewer to restore hydraulic capacity and alleviate surcharging.
Numerous physical defects and sources of infiltration and inflow were identified through the field investigations and were transferred to the design engineers in electronic format.
