       Lake Street Pumping Station

  Village of Harrison, NY

  Harrison, New York

  $500,000

The majority of the Village of Harrison’s potable water supply was obtained through a 1mgd pumping station. Built Circa 1958, this station pumped raw water from Rye Lake via two vertical turbine pumps, and served a relatively low pressure zone. A new force main and storage tanks were constructed to serve a higher pressure zone. This zone required modifications to the systems pumping capacity including greater flows and higher pressures. Savin performed preliminary evaluation, field investigations, preliminary design, and prepared final contract documents for the potable water pumping station. Final design included the replacement of an existing 60 hp turbine pump with a new 100 hp pump, a booster pumping station with two horizontal split case pumps, force main modifications and associated appurtenances. The system design included two new pressure reducing valves and modifications to existing PRV’s in order to insure all zones are serviced during peak and emergency conditions.
